Waterloo Road spoilers follow.
Things took an unexpected turn on tonight's (February 7) episode of Waterloo Road, as Preston grew close to Kai at a party and the pair eventually shared a kiss.
After Samia ruined Preston's basketball scholarship and dumped him, a downtrodden Preston sought emotional support at Kai's party.
In an alleyway, after having a heart-to-heart, Kai told Preston: "I think you like to fit in but that's not the real you."
"You see me, don't you?" Preston said to Kai before leaning in to kiss him. Preston apologised but smiled as Kai walked away.

Earlier in the episode, Samia discovered that the boys at the school had a "hot or not list" that ranked the girls on their looks. She decided to take matters into her own hands to find who created it.
Samia and Kelly Jo grew apart when Samia accused Dean Weaver of starting the list. "This has Dean Weaver scum written all over it," she said.
Dean denied creating the list, but Samia accused him of lying. This further drove a wedge between Samia and Kelly Jo, who's in a relationship with Dean.
When Samia found out that her boyfriend Preston had created the list, she confronted him at his basketball game and performed a feminist cheer outing the boys for their sexist list.

Later, Mr King's relationship with headteacher Kim Campbell came between him and his soon-to-be ex wife. Meanwhile, Danny reunited with his estranged mum, who only wanted money from him.
Elsewhere, Donte had a meeting with Kim and Joe to face the consequences of his outburst when he learned about Coral's role in Chlo's death.
As the episode ended, Danny fought off two men with a knife. Vinny had sent them to get back his stolen money, but is that the end of the matter?
