Wednesday has released a deluxe doll of the Addams Family's daughter and her loyal hand-servant Thing.

The Netflix series, created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and directed by Tim Burton, has given Wednesday's companion — a severed yet sentient and very expressive hand — a place to shine.

Portrayed by Victor Dorobantu in Netflix's Wednesday, Thing helps Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) solve the show's central mystery against the backdrop of Nevermore Academy. Thing also forges a special friendship with Wednesday's roommate, werewolf Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers).

The doll duo recreates the special bond between Wednesday and Thing, displaying the Addams' eldest rocking her dagger-collared black dress and her trusted friend resting on her shoulder.

Currently available for pre-order, the collector's piece retails for £65.

The eight-episode series has given fans an insight into a teenage version of the character created by cartoonist Charles Addams. This iteration of Wednesday develops psychic powers and attends Nevermore Academy alongside other teens with special abilities.

Wednesday has already become a massive hit for the streaming platform, with its record-breaking 341.2 million hours of streaming in its first week topping even the highs of season 4 of Stranger Things.

It's no surprise then that Netflix officially announced this week that a second season is officially in the works. There had previously been fears that the show could leave Netflix due to the rights of the Addams Family changing.

Series star Jenna Ortega reacted to the big news by thanking the millions of viewers who "made this upcoming season possible".

"This has all been pretty surreal," she tweeted.

Alongside Ortega, the Wednesday cast are Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester, and The Addams Family's Christina Ricci as botany teacher Marilyn Thornhill.

Series co-creator Gough recently explained the decision to focus on a teenage Wednesday Addams.

"Her fearlessness and ability to always be herself was interesting, and we thought: 'What if she was a teenage girl?" he said.

"And then what if you took her out of the family and put her in boarding school, which is ostensibly a new family? How would she react?'"

Wednesday is currently streaming on Netflix.
