Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey has revealed its first look at Christopher Robin.

The slasher horror movie is based on AA Milne’s first Winnie the Pooh book, but follows a much darker and disturbing path as Pooh and Piglet go on a murderous rampage after Christopher abandons them.

The new images tease a potential flashback within the movie, as Christopher is pictured smiling as a young boy.

In the trailer, released earlier in the year, a grown-up Christopher heads back to Hundred Acre Wood after university and is reunited with his former childhood friends.

However, they're not pleased to be reunited with him.

"We used to be friends, why are you doing this? I would have never left, I swear," Christopher is seen pleading to Pooh and Piglet who have become feral and vicious after years of neglect.

Director Rhys Waterfield explained the dark turn that Pooh and Piglet have had since they knew Christopher as a child, and the impact that being left in the woods had on them both.

"Because they've had to fend for themselves so much, they've essentially become feral," Waterfield said about the iconic duo while speaking to HuffPost. "So they've gone back to their animal roots. They're no longer tame: they're like a vicious bear and pig who want to go around and try and find prey."

Despite being based on children stories, Waterfield has revealed that not all the characters made the cut.

Eeyore’s melancholic tones will be missed from the movie, as he became victim to his friend’s villainous side.

"Eventually, it got to the point where it was so dire and there was no food in the forest for Pooh and Piglet, and they made the tough decision to kill and eat Eeyore," Waterfield added. Lovely.

Fathom Events have announced that the low budget horror will be released in cinemas in the US for one day on February 15, 2023.

Altitude has not yet confirmed a UK release date, but it seems safe to say horror fans won’t have too much longer to wait.
