Netflix's Luther movie has been handed a March 2023 release window.
By that point, it'll be four years since Idris Elba last donned the iconic tweed jacket and this time, he's in finer company than ever before.
Andy Serkis (most recently seen in Andor) and Oscar-nominee Cynthia Erivo (Bad Times at the El Royale) join Elba's DCI John Luther as newcomers, while Dermot Crowley reprises his role as DSU Martin Schenk.

Back in April of this year, Elba appeared on Sirius XM's The Jess Cagle Show to confirm that director Jamie Payne had wrapped production on his big-screen Luther continuation.
"I just finished filming about three weeks ago, it was a grim shoot. Oh my gosh," he said.
"I'm reading the script and then, 'He does what? Wow, this is incredible!' And then I'm actually doing it. I find myself freezing in some dark cave or something, but no spoilers."
Judging by the first couple of stills, he wasn't kidding about those cold conditions either.

Further along in his interview, the Beast actor went on to reveal that the movie will not be a self-contained story and instead follows season 5 directly.
"If you watch the last season, it picks up after that. But for new audiences that haven't seen it, I think the film is a whole story," he explained.
"Even if you don't know Luther, who he is, or anything about him, the film attempts to be whole for a new audience."
The Luther movie will stream on Netflix from March 2023, while all five seasons are available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
