You season 4 will now drop earlier than originally planned

Professor Jonathan Moore will see you shortly.

You is coming to our screens earlier than originally announced, as Netflix has changed the release date for season 4.

Penn Badgley's killer Joe Goldberg (or should we say Professor Jonathan Moore now?) is moving across the pond for this new instalment, split into two chapters.

Originally set to premiere on the streamer on February 10 and March 10 next year, the two parts will now debut a day earlier, February 9 and March 9 respectively.

Much like Emily in Paris's France, the poster for Goldberg's new alias is a little heavy on English clichés.

Badgley's character rocks a beard and a seemingly mandatory tweed jacket while Union Jack bunting and red double decker buses are blurred in the background.

"Emotional baggage for Jonathan Moore is waiting at the claim," Netflix teases in their announcement, hinting at brand new troubles awaiting the protagonist. (Spoilers ahead if you haven't watched You season 3 just yet.)

After his previous life and identity went up in flames, Joe has fled to Europe under a new identity to pursue true love. If you've struggled to keep up with his complicated personal life, this would be librarian Marienne Bellamy (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina's Tati Gabrielle), who he originally followed to Paris.

Though it isn't clear where he stands with Marienne now, a teaser confirmed that Joe/Jonathan has relocated to the UK and is busy being the life of the party in a group of wealthy socialites. When the rich London gang are targeted by a killer, our very own lead will have to go out of his way to identify and stop his fellow murderer.

Alongside Badgley and Gabrielle, season 4 also features Ghosts and Feel Good's Charlotte Ritchie as Joe's new romantic interest, The White Lotus' Lukas Gage, and EastEnders' Tilly Keeper. Rounding out the cast are Adam James, Ed Speelers, Amy Leigh-Hickman, Sean Pertwee, Brad Alexander, Stephen Hagan, Aidan Cheng, Ben Wiggins and Ozioma Whenu.

You seasons 1-3 are streaming on Netflix. Season 4 part 1 will debut on the platform on February 9, 2023, with part 2 following on March 9.
