Bridgerton's Simone Ashley confirms she won't return for next series of Sex Education

"I'm a Bridgerton girl now."

Sex Education's third series ended in a way that made you feel like it could be the end of the show, what with the school apparently being shut down. However, a fourth series has been commissioned, so it looks like everyone will be returning.

Well, almost everyone, as star Simone Ashley has now confirmed that she is done with the Netflix hit in order to focus on... well, another Netflix hit.

The actress has been making waves as Kate Sharma, one of the main characters in series 2 of Bridgerton, and it's unsurprising that she is choosing to focus on that going forward.

Appearing on today's This Morning (April 12), Simone broke the news to hosts Vernon Kay and Josie Gibson.

"No," she confirmed when asked if she'd be returning to Sex Education, before going on to add: "I get asked that all the time. No, I'm a Bridgerton girl now."

She is super excited to "definitely" be returning for the third run of Bridgerton however, explaining that she's looking forward to seeing Kate in the next chapter of her life.

"She's the head of the household now, she's the Viscountess and married to Anthony and it's a year later at this point, so I'm very excited," she added.

In Sex Education, Simone played Olivia Hanan, one of the Untouchables who had a pretty nasty mean streak but also had her vulnerabilities and insecurities about her sex life.

We don't know yet if the fourth series of Sex Education will be the last, but star Aimee Lou Wood recently stated that she thinks it will come to an end sooner rather than later.

"It's going to have to come to an end, which is sad, but also I feel like you should always leave them wanting more," she said.

"Always end on a high instead of having people go, 'I really wish they would stop.'"

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV from 10am, while Sex Education is available on Netflix.

Bridgerton seasons 1 and 2 are now also available to watch on Netflix. Secret Cinema with Fever Present Bridgerton is open now in Wembley. To purchase tickets, head here.
