Lord Sugar has given his verdict on the future of The Apprentice, confirming that the series will continue for two more seasons after this year.
Speaking at a press event ahead of the 2023 series premiere, the businessman said he is signed on to do two more seasons but would be happy to continue if the show remains popular.
"This is officially the 17th series so next year is 18. I have agreed to do two more series, which will bring me up to 19," he said (via Radio Times).
"Depending on how well that is received, and the BBC do their statistical numbers and all that, I'd be delighted to do a 20th."

"Bear in mind, I've also done three Junior Apprentices so I mean, in a way, you could argue that I've already done 20 [seasons]," he added.
This year's candidates looking to secure a £250,000 investment were revealed earlier this week. The line-up includes a safari guide, a former boxer and the self-described "youngest CEO of a further education college in the UK".
Upcoming tasks are said to include a trip to Antigua, creating a cartoon and an insight into the world of male beauty.

The Apprentice first hit our screens back in 2005, seeing candidates battle it out for either a job offer or an investment from the entrepreneur.
Despite 18 years on air and multiple format changes, there is still interest in the business reality show. Last year's series had multiple memorable moments, including badly-designed logos, an unfortunate-looking toothbrush and misspelt product titles.
The Apprentice airs on BBC One, with spin-off series You're Fired airing immediately afterwards on BBC Two.
