Fear the Walking Dead spoilers follow.
Fear the Walking Dead fans are set for a jam-packed second half of season 7, with the reappearance of a much-beloved character.
AMC announced on Talking Dead that Kim Dickens will be making a surprising comeback as Madison Clark this season, before returning as a series regular in season 8.
Madison's original off-screen death happened during the fourth season, when she sacrificed herself at the stadium to allow the others to escape during a zombie attack led by the Vultures.

Scott Gimple, The Walking Dead universe's chief content officer, said (via Entertainment Weekly): "If there were a Mt. Deadmore, Kim Dickens' face would be on it. Madison Clark is a foundational character to TWDU – heroic, complex, an every person who becomes a warrior and then a force of benevolence.
"Kim Dickens' raw talent, strength, and brilliance will electrify TWDU once more and we couldn't be luckier to have her back."
The Fear the Walking Dead producers are no stranger to surprise returns, with actor Demetrius Grosse back in season 7, playing Emile LaRoux's twin brother Josiah. So, never say never.

The announcement of Madison's return comes as tensions significantly escalate between her daughter Alicia and Victor Strand in the midseason finale, prompting a potential war between the two.
Back in 2018, Dickens told Entertainment Weekly of her heartbreak when the character was originally written off the show, saying: "I have loved this character, I've loved playing this character, I've loved this show, and I'm so proud to be a strong female empowered lead of a genre show."
Fans have been speculating over Madison's fate for years, and late last year, showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg didn't rule out a return for the character.
Fear the Walking Dead airs on AMC in the US and on AMC UK in the UK.
