Young Sheldon has welcomed Mandy McCallister's parents in a recurring capacity.
The Good Doctor star Rachel Bay Jones has joined the cast of the spinoff of The Big Bang Theory alongside Will Sasso (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel). The two actors play the parents of Emily Osment's character (via Deadline).
Mandy is now in a relationship with Sheldon's (Iain Armitage) older brother Georgie (Montana Jordan). As the couple are expecting a baby, it is only natural that Georgie tries to make a good impression on his in-laws.

According to the character descriptions, Mandy's mum and dad couldn't be any more different.
Sasso's Jim owns the local tyre shop and is sweet-natured, often trying to keep the peace between his daughter and his wife Audrey.
Bay Jones' character, on the other hand, is stubborn and often unhappy with Mandy's life choices, including the one to have a baby with Georgie. And she's very vocal about her disapproval.

Now in its sixth season, the spinoff has already been renewed for a seventh instalment. CBS is yet to confirm whether round seven will be the last we'll get to see of the characters or there'll be more.
Throughout the years, a few Big Bang Theories stars have crossed over to the spinoff, narrated by adult Sheldon actor Jim Parsons.
Earlier this year, Young Sheldon saw a cameo from Mayim Bialik, who played neurobiologist and Sheldon's wife Amy Farrah Fowler on the main show. Bialik and Parsons narrated an episode centred on relationships together, while Teller, who played Amy's father on The Big Bang Theory, appeared in an unexpected role to help Sheldon navigate puberty.
Young Sheldon airs on CBS in the US, and is also shown in the UK on E4. You can buy The Big Bang Theory complete boxset now on DVD and Blu-ray.
