The hit espionage thriller series 24 is exploding onto Disney+ and will be available on the streaming service February 23.
The long-running show stars Kiefer Sutherland as counter-terrorist agent Jack Bauer, who has to deal with assassination attempts, nuclear attacks, conspiracy theories and pretty much everything else that causes huge set-pieces and edge-of-your-seat action.
Upon release, 24 innovated television by portraying every episode in real-time – every season is a day in the life of Jack Bauer with each episode documenting 60 minutes over the 24-hour period.
The show often makes use of multiple storylines unfolding at the same time, with the screen splitting up into multiple sections to show different perspectives of the characters, resulting in some tense moments as plot twists unfold.
24 will be joining Disney+ as part of its sixth brand Star – a new 'mature' line of content joining existing entertainment brands Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, Pixar and Disney.
All nine seasons of the show, including the latest Live Another Day series and the spin-off 24: Legacy, will be available to stream on Disney+ on February 23.
If you're not already a Disney+ subscriber, you can sign up for £5.99 a month or £59.99 for a full year's access to the streaming service.
The price of Disney+ is set to increase when Star launches on February 23 – the cost will rise to £7.99 a month, or £79.90 annually.
If you subscribe before February 23, or you're already an ongoing subscriber, you'll continue to pay the lower price of £5.99 a month until August 22, 2021, then the price will rise to £7.99 on your next monthly bill.
Signing up for a full year before February 23 will cost £59.99, and you won't have to pay the higher cost of £79.90 unless you choose to renew your subscription when the year is up, making this the best value if you want to subscribe.
Another way to get Disney+ is if your mobile network is O2, which offers six months of Disney+ free as part of its Extras for upgrading or new customers.
If you don't want to upgrade, you can still add Disney+ to your O2 plan and it'll give you £2 airtime credit as a bonus.
All nine seasons of 24 can be purchased on Amazon Prime Video if you'd rather digitally own the series.
If you're in the US, you can still stream 24 with Hulu.
24 won't be the only new addition to Disney+ as part of Star – a number of other shows will be joining the service on February 23 including Lost, Prison Break, The X-Files, Desperate Housewives, How I Met Your Mother, Atlanta, Black-ish and original shows Love, Victor and The Undoing creator's new show Big Sky.
The new shows and movies being added as part of Star is set to double the amount of content available on Disney+, and with expanding original content such as Marvel shows like and Star Wars' The Mandalorian, there's no better time to join the streaming service than now.
24 will be streaming on Disney+ from February 23.
