Emmerdale announces surprise passion for Paddy Dingle - and more big spoilers

The new year in Emmerdale is promising to bring whole new drama, but not necessarily the good kind. ITV has announced shocking spoilers for Paddy, Samson, Noah, and Charity Dingle.

The network recently shared that "blackmail threats, cruel deception, and forbidden, secret liaisons are about to send shockwaves through the Emmerdale village" — and some residents will get hit with "serious consequences" of their actions.

The bigger the actions, the bigger the consequences. With this logic, we can expect a pretty monumental fallout for our villagers.

Paddy Dingle's upcoming storyline is definitely a shocker, revealing he's falling deeper into a pit rather than trying to dig himself out of it and mend bridges with his family.

Still reeling from Chas's affair, Paddy will soon turn to his ex-wife Mandy for comfort. As the two open up and reminisce together, old feelings will come to the fore, and the exes will find themselves in bed together.

Will this give Paddy a wake-up call, or is it just the latest in his string of bad decisions?

If that weren't enough, things aren't looking too rosy for the younger Dingles either.

Amelia Spencer's baby is going to prove a tool for tension between Noah and Samson, with Noah stepping up to look after the tot when biological dad Samson proves himself unworthy.

But when Samson decides to use Noah's trust fund idea to blackmail him for money, all of the Dingles will feel the effects.

Meanwhile, just when things were looking stable for the couple, Charity and Mackenzie's relationship is going to face a huge hurdle now that Mack's one-night stand with Chloe Harris has resulted in a pregnancy.

There's no telling how Charity will react when the truth comes out, or how the Dingles as a whole will cope with so many problems on their plate.
