Netflix has some exciting news for fans of Heartstopper.
Series creator Alice Oseman has joined with stars Kit Connor and Joe Locke to officially announce that the second season has wrapped filming.
Alongside a photo of the three holding a film slate, the show's Instagram account announced: "And that's a wrap on Heartstopper Season 2… à bientôt!"
There will be some significant changes when the show returns, including peripheral actor Bradley Riches from season 1 being upgraded to the main cast in the new role of Truman student James McEwan.
Other newcomers for the sophomore run include Leila Khan as Higgs pupil Sahar Zahid, Jack Barton as Nick Nelson's big brother David and Nima Taleghani as Truman teacher Mr Farouk.
Kit Connor recently made headlines for coming out as bisexual, and has expressed hopes that Heartstopper will lead to more bi-visibility across the media.
"I think that the bisexual community is a community that has really a shockingly low amount of representation, especially male bisexual characters," he said during a Critics Choice Awards panel alongside his Heartstopper co-star Joe Locke.
"It is shocking because a huge amount of the LGBTQIA+ community is made up of bisexual people. It’s a huge community but we really don’t get much representation."

Their co-star Yasmin Finney also has a huge year ahead, as she will not only return to Heartstopper, but she has also been cast in the mysterious role of Rose for the Doctor Who 60th anniversary specials.
Finney has predicted her casting will "change the world" as it will hopefully open up more opportunities for trans actors in some of the biggest film and TV franchises.
Heartstopper is streaming on Netflix. Seasons 2 and 3 have been confirmed.
