Margot Robbie is promising her upcoming DC project Birds of Prey will feature a diverse cast.
The actress is producing the female-led film, where she'll reprise her Suicide Squad role as Harley Quinn.
Already Cathy Yan is being tipped to direct, making her the first non-white, female filmmaker to helm a DC movie.
And speaking to Yahoo Movies! Robbie confirmed that she also wants the cast to be just as diverse.
"Real life isn't so one specific image," Robbie said when asked about Birds of Prey's casting. "We've got to reflect that on screen."
And for the cosplay fans, Robbie also revealed that Harley Quinn is going to have new looks in the films, teasing: "There will be new Halloween costumes out there, one day."
Earlier this week, Robbie confirmed to Flickering Myth that filming on Birds of Prey is expected to start in January 2019.
Speaking of the project earlier this year, Robbie described it as "an R-rated girl gang film including Harley".
"I was like, 'Harley needs friends'. Harley loves interacting with people, so don't ever make her do a standalone film," Robbie said.
"She's got to be with other people, it should be a girl gang. I wasn't seeing enough girl gangs on screen, especially in the action space."
Birds of Prey is yet to get an official release date, but the next DC project to hit cinemas will be Aquaman on December 14.
