One of the enduring comic book myths is the mystery of the Joker's identity.
DC Comics has frequently implied that there isn't really an answer to the question over the Batman villain's true identity.
But after a period of messing around with his mythos – including the suggestion that the Clown Prince of Crime is immortal – the publisher will now be revealing the Joker's secret identity in Justice League #50.
Batman had already learned the truth after becoming omnipotent during a struggle with the New Gods, but now DC will be sharing the revelation with the rest of us.
"The answer probably won't be an answer people predict," writer Geoff Johns told IGN after the announcement at WonderCon.
They might be breaking that formerly unshakable pillars of comics continuity, but at least Spider-Man's Uncle Ben is still dead. Wait... what?!
Justice League #50 will be released on May 25.
