Extraordinary season 2 potential release date, cast, plot and everything you need to know

What's next for Jen and Jizzlord?

Extraordinary spoilers follow.

There are now as many superhero shows out there as there are superpowers you can think of, so it's not easy to make your mark in the genre. Thankfully, Extraordinary lives up to its name and then some with the hilarious story of Jen, a woman who remains powerless in a world full of superpowers.

Now, that doesn't sound too hilarious, but underestimate this show at your peril. Following Wedding Season and Save Our Squad with David Beckham, Extraordinary is the third Disney+ original series to be developed in the UK, and it's easily the best yet.

Once you've soared through all eight episodes of Emma Moran's debut show, you'll be craving a second season even more than Jen craves a superpower. Now, that's where we come in.

Join us here at Digital Spy as we reveal everything you need to know about Extraordinary season two on Disney+ in the UK (and Hulu in the US).

It's already been announced that Extraordinary will return for a second season, with the news breaking at the series' launch event on January 24. Given that it was one of the first Disney+ UK shows to be developed, there were almost certainly always going to be plans for new episodes in the future.

Now that a second season is officially confirmed, we can probably expect to see new episodes of Extraordinary early on in 2024, or perhaps even by the end of this year given how production is now underway.

When Extraordinary returns for a second season, expect to see the following cast members return in new episodes:

• Máiréad Tyers as Jen
• Sofia Oxenham as Carrie
• Bilal Hasna as Kash
• Luke Rollason as Jizzlord
• Siobhán McSweeney as Mary
• Safia Oakley-Green as Andy
• Robbie Gee as Ian
• Ned Porteous as Luke

We'll likely see a lot more of Jizzlord's forgotten family too if those final moments at the end of season one are anything to go by.

Extraordinary season 2 plot: What will happen?

Kash has pretty much been the worst boyfriend ever, and even Carrie has finally had enough. Breaking up with him isn't easy though, because Kash keeps rewinding time after each breakup to see where he went wrong. And he also threw a nice party!

Meanwhile, Jizzlord is getting a bit too clingy for Jen's liking, so she tries to slow things down with their new relationship. That backfires though when Jizzlord hears Jen complain about Kash to Carrie, so he takes off into the night like the stray cat he is.

Before that, Jen ended up having a heart-to-heart with her mum, who's been a bit jealous of Jen's relationship with her dead dad... It makes sense if you've watched the show, we promise!

As the party goes on, Kash finds it harder and harder to hold the breakup at bay. He's been awake for 28 hours straight, continuously rewinding time, and not even industrial lubricant drinks banned in the EU can help him now.

Eventually, he runs out of strength, and Carrie finally does the deed. The saddest part of all this is how Kash keeps hearing the breakup repeat over and over as he tries to stop it, but this is the best thing for them both, moving forward.

Jen also has an epiphany after she finally realises that this d-bag isn't good enough for her, no matter how hot he is or how great his cocktails (wine with a little umbrella) might taste.

Realising her true feelings for Jizzlord, Jen runs out into the night, and the pair end up kissing in the rain with a surprisingly cute little rom-com moment. As if that wasn't great enough, Gordon, the orgasm man, then offers to pay for Jen's visit to The Clinic after her mum realises it's too expensive for her.

The final scene of the season is a happy one. Carrie's done what's best for herself, Jizzlord has found love with Jen, and Jen is finally about to go and get herself a superpower. The only small hiccup here is that Jizzlord, on a trip to the corner shop, suddenly stumbles into what we can only assume are his wife and child.

Yep, before Jizzlord lost his memories in the body of a cat, it turns out he had a family. Jizzlord, or Jizzdad as we're now keen to call him, will have to face a lot of new challenges in season two, and it looks like so will Jen.

Until we visit The Clinic and finally develop some superpowers of our own, it's hard to say when new footage will appear. But if we had to guess, towards the end of 2023 seems like a safe bet.

Extraordinary streams on Disney+ in the UK, and Hulu in the US.
