Ellie Taylor reveals who she'd like to win Strictly

"She’s my bestie - she’s worked so hard, and she’s really blossomed."

Strictly Come Dancing's Ellie Taylor has revealed who she’d like to win the latest series.

The comedian, who was partnered with Johannes Radebe, became the latest celebrity to be eliminated from the show, losing to Fleur East and Vito Coppola in Sunday’s dance-off.

Speaking to host Janette Manrara on It Takes Two, Ellie spoke about her time on the show, and revealed who she’d like to lift the Glitterball trophy.

“There’s some wonderful people left, but I would love Helen [Skelton] to win,” said Ellie. “She’s my bestie – she’s worked so hard, and she’s really blossomed.”

Reflecting on her final dance, which saw her score 25 points for their Thelma and Louise-themed Jive, Ellie said: “I really enjoyed it. I like an upbeat dance, but it was very technical – it’s probably the scattiest I’ve been. I don’t know if it was week 10 nerves or just too many steps.”

The couple, who were bottom of the leaderboard after Saturday’s live show, were consigned to their fate after all four judges voted to save Fleur, but Ellie was in a jovial mood despite being in the eliminator.

“You could probably tell from my previous reactions that I was more surprised to not be in the dance off than to be in it,” she said. “We knew it was going to be the last time we’d dance together – we weren’t going to beat Fleur and Vito – so we just went and had fun. I’m really proud of our dance-off because it was better than our first dance,” she added.

After viewing a montage of their time together, the pair paid tribute to each other, with Johannes saying that his partner had “come a long way” and “improved so much", while also joking that he hadn’t had to “reach out to [his] therapist” during their time together.

The comedian said she loved her time on the show, adding: “I can’t believe I did ten dances live on telly. I’ve told myself throughout my life that I can’t dance, so to see that [montage] was really nice.”

For one week only, Strictly Come Dancing airs on Friday (December 2) at 8pm on BBC One, with a results show on Saturday (December 3) at 5.40pm. Spin-off show Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows also stream on BBC iPlayer.
