Teen Wolf: The Movie stars Tyler Posey and Crystal Reed have broken down their characters' reunion in the new movie adaptation of the classic show.

The movie features Posey returning as werewolf Scott McCall, who must gather new allies and reunite old friends – including Reed's Allison Argent – in order to defeat a powerful new evil.

In an interview with Digital Spy, Posey and Reed broke down Allison and Scott's reunion.

"What was so great about Teen Wolf was that it didn’t take any time to get us thrust back into the energy of filming again," Posey said. "It was like no time had passed. We didn’t ease into it. She was kicking my ass. That was our first scene together.

"It felt just symbolic of what Teen Wolf was. Getting to work with Crystal in that capacity was something we had never done before. It wasn’t love-y dove-y. It was a new sort of dynamic between us two. And it was so much fun."

Posey continued: "It was such a fun thing to play. And just a really wild, weird scene that we’ve never experienced on Teen Wolf before. So it was cool."

Reed touched on the physical aspects of the scene, which included a lot of action and some "confusing" choreography for the pair to figure out.

"It felt really fluid. And I think that was because we’d done so much around the show, and it just clicked. And that was nice. It was nice to have Tyler there for that," she said.

Reed also spoke about Allison's return to the franchise after she was killed off in season three of the show.

"I love the way she returned, because she didn’t remember anything," she shared. "And I think that was a really fun aspect for me to play as an actor, to try and find something new and different about her.

"Her journey throughout the movie was hard for me. It was a constant – her cortisol levels are constantly really high, and she’s in a state of panic and confusion.

"But I think there’s such a big payoff at the end when she remembers everything. So I think it was worth it."

Teen Wolf: The Movie is released on Paramount+ in the US on January 26 and in the UK on January 27
