Creed 3 is making a huge change from the prior two films.
The franchise has been based upon Sylvester Stallone's veteran boxer Rocky Balboa mentoring former rival Apollo Creed's son Adonis (Michael B Jordan) as the next great champion.
Unfortunately, that relationship will not be continuing because Sly's spokesperson has told The Hollywood Reporter that the actor won't return as Rocky for the third film.
There are no details yet on why Stallone will not be re-teaming with Michael B Jordan and producer Ryan Coogler, or how Rocky will be written out of the franchise.

The third Creed film was confirmed in December, along with the news that Jordan would be directing the sequel in addition to starring in the title role.
Jordan will actually be following in Stallone's footsteps by directing a Creed movie, since Sly directed four entries in the Rocky franchise.
The script will come from Zach Baylin, who has written Will Smith's biopic King Richard about Venus and Serena Williams's father Richard Williams.
Stallone does have more Rocky for fans to look forward to, having recently recut Rocky IV. Among the changes has been to send Paulie's infamous robot "to the junkyard forever".
The Rocky icon was also recently revealed to be reuniting with Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn for The Suicide Squad, where he voices the viral hit character King Shark.
"Always love working with my friend @officialslystallone & our work today on #TheSuicideSquad was no exception," Gunn announced last year.
"Despite Sly being an iconic movie star, most people still don't have any idea what an amazing actor this guy is."
Creed 3 will be released on November 23, 2022.
