It's been confirmed that On My Block season four is all systems go. But in big (and sad) news, it will be the show's final outing.
"It's official!! The squad is linking up for one last adventure. On My Block is coming back for a 4th and final season! Grab the gnomies and get ready!" tweeted Netflix from its Strong Black Lead account.

On My Block season 4 cast: Who's in it?
The following are all returning for round four: Monse (Sierra Capri), Cesar (Diego Tinoco), Ruby (Jason Genao), Jamal (Brett Gray), Jasmine (Jessica Marie Garcia), and Spooky (Julio Macias), among others.
Peggy Blow, who plays Abuelita, has also been promoted to series regular for season four.

There was A LOT to take in at the end of season three.

"This has a different kind of cliffhanger than we've had in the previous two seasons," showrunner Lauren Iungerich said before it hit screens (via Refinery29). "This one's really going to mess y'all up."
She wasn't wrong.
The finale wrapped up with a two-year time jump, during which time the series' main characters had all grown apart and were busy with their own lives.
"They've all seen each other as friends and as a collection of individuals that make a group, and they are now really starting to identify on their own as separate individuals," Iungerich told Entertainment Weekly back in 2018. "And so we're on that precipice with them as they're taking on the challenges of having new identities separate from each other, but yet they still want to be together.
"I think that's really what happens when you go to high school: You start to carve out what your place in the world is going to be. And sometimes that's in conflict with where your friends are at, and sometimes it's in concert with them."
Monse was thriving at boarding school, with that photo of her and the home crew pushed to the back of her bedside table. Then there was Ruby and Jasmine, who only had eyes for each other, while Jamal, weirdly, had started playing football again.
Jamal and Ruby also looked like they weren't talking at all, sharing a look between them that suggested all was not well.
We'd expect season four to explore what went down between the pair, as well as explaining why Jamal has started hanging out with the football crowd again.
There was some positive news, however, with Spooky seemingly shrugging off his gang affiliations to concentrate on his girlfriend/wife, who was expecting a baby.
But actor Julio Macas isn't so sure if Spooky is really on the road to redemption.
"Now, I haven't talked to anybody, but just knowing how this show goes, it can't be that happy, right?" he said in an interview with Seventeen. "How do you afford that house? How do you support that girl? You know, is his family safe? He clearly got some tattoos removed, but I mean, how do you go from gang-banging to that in almost no time?"
But Cesar, by contrast, had jumped firmly back into the Santos gang and now appeared to be its leader, sporting a new tattoo and shaved head.
"Me and Diego talked about this even from season one," Macas told Seventeen. "Like, 'Hey wouldn't it be cool if our characters, like, one went this way and one went the other?'
Executive producer Eddie Gonzalez told Hollywood Life that we will see a "darker shade to Cesar given what he's seen", adding: "You wonder what the Cesar who runs the gang looks like? What does an Oscar look like? What does it do when you take the guy out of the life? You can take the guy out of the life, but can you take the life out of the guy?"
"There will be definitive answers to what really dismantled this group of friends," Iungerich told TV Guide.
"What specifically were the little specifics along the way other than just the mission to find Oscar and band together to kill Cuchillos," she said (via Hollywood Life). "That was the first crack in the veneer of friendship, the idea that they love each other so much they would consider killing someone."
Chatting to The AV Club about why the season three finale had to end the way it did, Iungerich added: "I feel like this is a great way to kind of reset so that we're conquering new ground and saying new things about these characters, getting to know them even more. We did not do [that ending] as any safety mechanism [anticipating] getting canceled. We were very comfortable ending this knowing that we had a really good shot of getting a season four just because of how much Netflix was loving the cuts. It will all come down to how many people tune in and watch."
