Netflix’s On My Block spinoff has been given a release date.
Freeridge is set to debut on Netflix on February 2, 2023, and along with this news, some first look images have been released.
Freeridge is a coming-of-age comedy that follows sibling rivals Gloria (Abbott Elementary’s Keyla Monterroso Mejia) and Ines (Bryana Salaz) and their friends Demi (Ciara Riley Wilson) and Cameron (Tenzing Norgay Trainor), who accidentally unleash a curse, bringing dark misfortune into their lives.

Peggy Blow, Paula Garcés, Eric Gutierrez, Eme Ikwuakor and Raushanah Simmons will be reprising their On My Block roles.
On My Block followed a group of inner-city teens living in the fictional Los Angeles neighbourhood of Freeridge across four seasons.
Speaking about the spinoff series, Lauren Iungerich, who is the showrunner, co-creator and executive producer of the show, said: "The new core four of Freeridge don’t step into the shoes of our original [On My Block] crew. They step into their own shoes, right alongside the legacy of the kids who came before them.

"Through the lens of this new group of friends, we’ll see Freeridge as we know it and also explore a Freeridge we haven’t seen before."
The first look photos show us the various cast members in different stages throughout the show. In one picture, we see Ines and Gloria looking unimpressed as they sit in what looks like the principal’s office.
In another photo we see the 'core four' looking on in varying degrees of confusion as one of them holds a mysterious box. We're certainly intrigued!
Freeridge premieres on Netflix on February 2, 2023. On My Block is available to stream on the platform.
