Wednesday’s Jenna Ortega weighs in on the show's big text mystery

Even she is clueless.

Wednesday spoilers follow.

Wednesday landed on Netflix this week and has already created waves online, with people loving Jenna Ortega’s take on the character. And now, she has opened up about the show’s big text mystery.

Towards the end of the show, Wednesday received a text from a mystery person on the phone that her love interest Xavier gave her. That text contained threatening messages and photos of herself, sent to her by a stalker. We obviously don’t know who it is, but it hasn’t stopped people from speculating.

When Digital Spy caught up with Ortega to ask if she knew anything, the actress revealed that she is just as confused as the viewers at home.

"Honestly, I have no idea. I’ve gotten that question a couple of times now and I'm so confused. I always assumed that it was either Miss Thornhill or Tyler or… I don’t know," she admitted.

"Maybe there’s another member of the Gates family that’s still alive. Or maybe it has no correlation whatsoever. I'm not sure. But I didn't even question it on the set. I just did it. So I'm curious to know," she added.

As of this moment, Wednesday is only billed to have one season. But seeing as how the show has so many loose ends, it won’t be surprising if the show receives a second season.

Back in September, series co-creator Alfred Gough spoke about the possibility of potentially expanding the franchise.

"Miles (Millar, his fellow creator) and I are talking amongst ourselves about it. There's definitely more that you can explore in the world of the Addamses," he said.

Wednesday is now streaming on Netflix.
