Wednesday's Gwendoline Christie teases her season 2 return

"We haven't seen her put in the ground, have we?"

Wednesday spoilers follow.

Wednesday star Gwendoline Christie has teased her return for the second season of the Netflix series.

The actress, who plays Principal Weems in The Addams Family spinoff, hoped she could return for future episodes despite her character meeting a tragic end at the hands of Laurel (Christina Ricci) in the season finale.

"We haven't seen her put in the ground, have we?" Christie said in an exclusive interview with Digital Spy. "I feel like Larissa Weems would not really be prepared to entertain or be dominated by anything as commonplace as death."

The former Game of Thrones star also spoke about her character's actions, which ultimately led to her apparent demise.

"I think that Larissa is doing her best to be embracing of the world as a whole. I think she's taken that chance, and it's unfortunate that it has ended up leading to her demise," she said. "But I feel like she thinks it's better to take the chance than not to take the chance. I think she feels that to take a stab at an idealistic world is better than to exist in isolation.

"She is very firmly cemented in her outsider status. Due to that, she has a healthy disregard and suspicion for normies and those in the normie world. I think she's also intelligent enough to know that she wants to develop a harmonious relationship between the outcasts at Nevermore and the normies, because she understands that she wants the community to be integrated."

Guzmán recently talked about the chemistry he had with his on-screen wife, saying he and Zeta-Jones had "a really good bond with each other".

Wednesday is currently streaming on Netflix.
