Apple TV+ has released the emotional first trailer for Dear Edward, a new drama starring The White Lotus' Connie Britton, Orange Is the New Black's Taylor Schilling and Wonka's Colin O'Brien.
Based on Ann Napolitano's 2020 novel of the same name, the ten-episode series follows Edward Adler (O'Brien), a 12-year-old boy who survives a tragic plane crash that kills every other passenger on his flight, including his own family.
As Edward and others who were affected by the crash try to come to terms with it, unexpected connections, relationships and communities emerge.

The trailer sees Edward move in with his aunt Lacey (Schilling), who is dealing with her own grief as she tells her support group: "People meet me and they think: 'She's the woman whose nephew survived the plane crash'. But they forget I'm also the woman who lost my big sister."
The group starts to bring together those who lost loved ones in the crash, including Dee Dee (Britton), who lost her husband and learns he had "another life" that she tries to piece together.
Besides the central trio, Dear Edward stars Amy Forsyth (CODA), Carter Hudson (Snowfall), Ivan Shaw (Chicago Med), Anna Uzele (FBI), Eva Ariel Binder (Grey's Anatomy), Brittany S. Hall (Ballers), Maxwell Jenkins (Reacher) and Audrey Corsa (New Amsterdam).

The series reunites director Jason Katims with Britton after they previously worked together on Friday Night Lights.
Discussing this reunion and how it came to be, Katims told Deadline: "I just had this instinct that she would connect this woman. I was working on the script and I wrote this character, Dee Dee, that I really love.
"One day when we started talking about casting, I was driving and I thought: 'Connie'. It just came to me and from that moment on, it became the only person that I imagined doing it."
Dear Edward premieres February 3 on Apple TV+.
