Death in Paradise is all about the sun-soaked whodunnits, but viewers also love a bit of romance too, and we know that people have gotten excited over the prospect of Marlon and Naomi becoming an item after spotting some chemistry between them in previous episodes.
When asked about the theories that something will happen between them in the upcoming series, Marlon actor Tahj Miles told Digital Spy and other press: "I'll say this. Marlon is very cheeky.
"He likes to push buttons, he likes to push boundaries. It happened in series 10 and 11.

"The new series is the one series where he puts his criminal past fully behind him. In 10 and 11, he still had one foot in the streets. I think he's decided that it's fine for him to purely be a police officer.
"Any element of his old self will be put to bed, including getting involved with someone he's professionally involved with! I don't think Marlon would get involved there, but you'll just have to see."
While it sounds like he's poured cold water on the idea, it doesn't sound like the door is completely closed on Marlon and Naomi as a couple.
Going into more depth on how Marlon will put his criminal past behind him, Miles teased the possibility of revisiting his history in the process.

"Yeah there's always opportunity to delve into Marlon's past. There's always so many elements of the crime on Saint Marie. We first met him with some fake DVDs, but we know that he's been connected to people on the island who've been involved with much worse.
"We're always finding out more – how much of a criminal was he really? We've shown how hard it is to come out of that life on the streets."
Death in Paradise's 12th series will be back in early 2023, following a feature-length Christmas special that will have a ghost-story vibe, according to Ralf Little.
Death in Paradise returns on Boxing Day on BBC One followed by series 12 from January 6, 2023. A spin-off, Beyond Paradise, is in production.
