Sex Education actor Chaneil Kular has joined the ensemble cast of Silver, a fantastical movie based on Kerstin Gier's books.

First reported by Deadline, director Helena Hufnagel's project charts the movements of teenager Liv (Jana McKinnon) as she relocates to London with her mum Ann (Nicolette Krebitz) and little sister Mia (Riva Krymalowski).

Here, she encounters Henry (Rhys Mannion), who belongs to a mysterious circle of lucid dreamers, yet little do they know that the fulfilment of their dreams comes at a high price. Kular will play Arthur Hamilton.

Silver, which is just the working title, is now shooting across London and Dublin in both the English and German languages, with Prime Video on hand to stream next year.

Meanwhile, Kular will soon be back on our Netflix screens as Moordale Secondary School pupil Anwar Bakshi, in Sex Education season 4.

The main players (along with Dan Levy and Thaddea Graham) will all be there too, but a question mark still lingers above James Purefoy's Remi Milburn.

The actor exclusively told Digital Spy last month: "It's a cracking show, I love Sex Education. I think it's a really brilliant piece of work. If they wanted me back, I'd be there in a heartbeat.

"One of the things that [creator] Laurie [Nunn] does among lots of brilliant things that she does is the way she [deals with] characters who seem to be incredibly odious in one way or difficult.

"Remi, he's such a dick in so many ways, and yet he kind of pulls it back at the end of his current story. You really get a sense of how lonely and miserable that man is underneath all the bravado."

Sex Education seasons 1-3 are streaming on Netflix, with a fourth on the way.
