Magpie Murders has officially found a new home — while a second series has also been confirmed for the Lesley Manville mystery series.
The first season was adapted by Anthony Horowitz from his book of the same name and aired on BritBox last year. Now, the BBC has announced it has acquired the series.
Season one followed The Crown's Manville as editor-turned-sleuth Susan Ryeland, who was drawn into intrigue, mystery and murder when she received an unfinished manuscript by a famous mystery author.

Game of Thrones' Conleth Hill starred alongside Manville while Timothy McCullan featured as the fictional detective Atticus Pünd. Season two, which will be titled Moonflower Murders, has now been confirmed.
Filming is expected to start later this year and will air in 2024. Last year, Manville spoke to Digital Spy and other media about the pressures of playing such a beloved character.

"There’s always pressure. With this, because it’s such a successful book, New York Times bestseller list forever, Sunday Times bestseller list, so there's a lot of pressure to get it right," Manville said.
"I was surprised when I told people I was doing it how many had read it who I wouldn’t have necessarily put down for reading this type of book, which is a testament to the book."
Manville also starred in season five of The Crown, playing Princess Margaret. The actress recently confirmed that season six will start filming soon.
"We're about to start. It's great, it's a fantastic series to work on. Every department is people at their best – costumes, hair and make-up, writing, directors, actors. It's a fantastic series to be involved in."
Magpie Murders is available to stream on BritBox now.
