Queen Elizabeth II was laid to rest following a state funeral on Monday (September 19), with senior members of the royal family, heads of state from around the world, members of the royal household and personal friends of the late monarch among the guests attending services at both Westminster Abbey in London and St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.

The late Queen was the longest-reigning British monarch, and the longest-serving female head of state in recorded history. Here, we chart her life and reign in photos.
