Viewers galore!

I’m a Celebritys 2022 finale has set a new ITV record, with the showpiece for the reality show garnering a 59% share of TV audiences.

Sunday's final saw 11.5 million viewers tune in at its peak, with the episode culminating in Jill Scott being crowned Queen of the Jungle.

The figures represented the highest peak audience for any entertainment show this year, with the average number of viewers across the whole show being a whopping 10.1 million (53% share).

The episode was also the show’s best final since 2018 in terms of ratings, gaining 3.6 million viewers from last year.

In Sunday night’s episode, former England footballer Jill prevailed over actor Owen Warner and politician Matt Hancock, who finished in second and third place respectively.

Upon her triumph, Jill joked that she “owed a lot of money to [her] grandma after 12 million votes”, adding that she “couldn’t believe” she’d won when being told by hosts Ant and Dec.

“We were one big team,” she said of her fellow campmates. “I don’t think there should be one winner, we couldn’t have gotten through it without all of us. I think we’ve all been winners.”

Owen, who plays Romeo on Hollyoaks, said he was “gassed” for Jill, adding that “nobody had deserved it more.”

While the three finalists were battling it out over the weekend, the previously eliminated 2022 campmates enjoyed dinner together, with Charlene White sharing a photo which included Chris Moyles, Boy George and Babatúndé Aléshé.

“This lot though. Couldn't have done it without them. The @imacelebrity camp mates who jungle together, celebrate together (and take ridiculous lift selfies together)... alongside family and friends,” she wrote.

“A few missing due to early starts, recovering from camp, and… er… still being in camp, but they were there in spirit. Not long til this Oz adventure finally comes to an end.”

We'll see the 2022 camp mates back together in the upcoming reunion episode, The Coming Out Show.

I'm a Celebrity: The Coming Out Show will air on ITV on Thursday, December 1.
