Strictly Come Dancing's James and Ola Jordan open up about hope for a second baby

The pair have been flying the flag for the use of IVF.

Strictly Come Dancing alumni James and Ola Jordan have talked about their hopes for a second child.

The professional dancers welcomed their first child, Ella, through IVF in 2020 after years of trying for a baby, and would happily go through the process again.

Speaking to Hello!, the pair talked about their IVF journey and when asked if they'd do it again, Ola said: "Yeah. I would love to have another baby. We're not thinking about another baby yet though.

"I'd love Ella to have a sibling – more for her than anything. She's quite hard work at the moment, so I can't imagine it but yeah, we would love to have more."

"We had such a positive experience with IVF," James added. "The clinic were so caring and it was run like clockwork.

"The whole experience was very professional. We haven't thought about another baby imminently, but we would definitely go through it again if we decide that we want to."

The duo also talked about how James' father was diagnosed with — and sadly died from — a brain tumour shortly after Ella's birth, and also opened up about how Ella being raised through the pandemic meant that there has been a lot of "separation anxiety" at first when it came to taking her to nursey, but they added that she is getting more social.

James and Ola also spoke about how there is still a stigma around the use of IVF, sharing that they've received messages from people who have gone through IVF but wouldn't admit it to people they know.

"We were so fortunate that it happened to us first time with Ella. For us, it has massively changed our lives and I think IVF is an amazing thing," James said. "Some people say it’s unnatural – well it isn't, you just have a little bit of help."

Ola added: "I know people who’ve done IVF for ten years and I really admire them. When I did it, I thought to myself, 'I don't know how many times I could do this.' For anyone going through it, it's tough on the person.

"But so many children have been born through IVF, it's amazing what they can do."

Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One.
