Stacey Dooley is crowned winner of Strictly Come Dancing 2018

The broadcaster lifted the glitterball trophy this evening.

Stacey Dooley has won Strictly Come Dancing 2018.

The broadcaster and her partner Kevin Clifton were announced as champions and walked home with the prestigious Glitterball Trophy on tonight's (December 15) final.

After receiving the news, Stacey said: "It's daunting doing something you haven't done before. You feel silly, you feel like a bit of an idiot, but Kevin walks you through."

On Kevin – who's been in the final four times but never won – she added: "I should say something quite poignant. You know highly I think of you. I think you're the biggest gent."

This year's runners-up are Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell, Ashley Roberts and Pasha Kovalev and Faye Tozer and Giovanni Pernice.

Stacey and Kevin performed three dances this evening. They danced a Foxtrot as their Judges' Pick, before wowing with their Showdance to 'Land of a Thousand Dances' by Jessica Mauboy.

They later chose their own favourite – the Paso Doble.
