Strictly Come Dancing's Stacey Dooley reveals whether she and Kevin Clifton will get married

"He'd divorce me in a heartbeat."

Former Strictly Come Dancing star Stacey Dooley has opened up on whether she and Kevin Clifton – who has been hitched three times – will ever get married.

Talking about her relationship on her W show, Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over, the presenter revealed that she's "more interested in starting a family" with her partner of two years, who she met while participating in the BBC reality competition, than she is tying the knot.

"I can't think of anything worse than being a Tradwife," Dooley continued, referencing a growing community of women who reject careers in favour of adopting a more submissive, traditional spousal role. "I would be useless, completely and utterly useless. He'd divorce me in a heartbeat.

"Of course, I'm not going to become a Tradwife, I can't think of anything I would less rather do than obeying a man," the 34-year-old continued.

"It makes you more vulnerable. I don't want to find myself totally reliant on a man because that means if I'm not happy and I don't feel fulfilled and complete, I might have to stick around. Whereas the life I've chosen, I can do as I please. I appreciate that probably sounds very selfish."

Dooley's candid confession was brought on by the fact that she spoke to self-proclaimed 'Tradwife' Lillian on a new instalment of Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over, as well as Lillian's husband Felipe, who views himself as "the boss" of the household.

The couple came on the show to discuss their day-to-day life and celebrate their 10-year wedding anniversary.

"It was really funny. Felipe was like, 'Oh your gold hoops are exactly what I thought they would be'. God he hates the hoops," Stacey laughed, recalling the three-way chat. "They are my USP, it's my brand."

Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One. It's due to return later in 2021. The new series of Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over starts Monday, May 3 at 10pm on W.
