The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan has announced he's joining the cast of Invincible for season two.
Morgan seemingly confirmed his involvement in the project through social media, posting an image of himself on Instagram alongside two volumes labelled Invincible 2 and 3. "Doing a little reading. Thanks to #robertkirkman," he captioned the image, also tagging the Amazon show's official account
Animated series Invincible is co-written by The Walking Dead's Robert Kirkman and features fellow TWD alumni Steven Yeun – meaning the project will be a reunion of sorts for Morgan and his former co-star.

Invincible stars Yeun as Mark Grayson/Invincible, a teenager trying to navigate his life after developing superhero powers on his 17th birthday. The cast also features Sandra Oh, JK Simmons, Seth Rogen and Zachary Quinto.
Following the huge success of season one, Prime Video renewed the series for a second and third season ]in spring 2021 – Morgan will most likely be involved in both seasons if his Instagram post is anything to go o. Further details about who he's playing are yet to be announced.
Production for season two began in March last year, with the official Invincible Twitter account posting a clip of Yeun in the recording booth.

Vernon Sanders, Head of Television at Amazon Studios, also confirmed that season two is set to premiere sometime in 2023 but couldn't say exactly when.
Teasing the news in an interview with Collider he said: "2023 is going to be a great year for people."
Meanwhile, Morgan has joined the cast of fellow Prime Video series The Boys for season four in an undisclosed role.
Invincible season 2 comes to Prime Video in 2023. Season 1 is available to stream. The Walking Dead aired on AMC in the US and STAR on Disney+ in the UK.
