Arrow star Stephen Amell gives update on delayed season 2 of show Heels

Fans have been waiting over a year for it to make a comeback.

Arrow star Stephen Amell has finally given fans an update on the delayed second season of his show Heels.

Following the success of the show's first run, US network Starz renewed the wrestling drama in November 2021.

However, since then, no new episodes have aired, even though the second season has now been filmed.

According to Amell, whose wife welcomed a second child last summer, the reason behind the delay stems from Starz's split from industry giant, Lionsgate.

The actor shared the latest update with fans during his guest appearance on Michael Rosenbaum’s podcast Inside of You.

"They are now in the process of, as best I understand it, 'untangling’ that partnership,'" Amell explained.

"As they are untangling everything, they are figuring out which assets belong to whom. So as a result, we wrapped filming [season 2] on the first of July and we don’t have a premiere date, let alone a trailer, let alone an indication of season 3."

"I know there are meetings that are starting to happen about writing for season 3," he continued. "But in the normal order of things, we would have more information than we do right now."

Amell went on to share that he's not worried about the future of the show, and believes fans should be getting further seasons eventually.

"I would be worried if I didn’t think the season was spectacular, and I think the season is spectacular," he said.

"It’s way better. More story, more scope…. And it also felt more like a cohesive season because we actually shot it in order and were subject to COVID ‘hiccups’ but not COVID catastrophes.

"I’m still very, very confident that there’s going to be more [Heels] to film."
