Adam Cole has made his long-awaited return to AEW after six months away from the ring.
Cole last wrestled at the AEW X NJPW: Forbidden Door pay-per-view in June, where he competed in a four-way match for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship against Kazuchika Okada, Jay White, and Hangman Page.
During the match he suffered a concussion and, apart from a Dynamite appearance in August with his Red Dragon teammates, he hasn't been seen by fans since.
At Dynamite, which was held at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, Tony Schiavone introduced Cole to the surprise and delight of fans.
Cole said he had both good and bad news, as he described the serious side effects he'd been experiencing since suffering back-to-back head injuries.
He said that he'd had MRIs and seen multiple doctors and was dealing with dizzy spells, vomiting, and waking up in the middle of the night with his heart racing.
However the bad news, Cole said, was for the AEW locker room as he declared he was now back, after having thought his career was over.
"I ain't done yet," Cole said. "I will not stop until I am the very best. Adam Cole has not even scratched the surface of what he's capable of."
Cole's appearance on Dynamite was also a surprise to the AEW locker room, with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reporting a "TBD promo" segment was listed on the internal run sheet.
On Twitter AEW employee Boz also showed the lengths they went to to keep Cole's appearance a secret, sharing a photo of the wrestler on the floor of his car sandwiched between the front and back seats and with his hoodie zipped up to cover his face.
