The Traitors US finale spoilers follow.

The Traitors US star Andie Vanacore has opened up about that shocking betrayal in the finale.

The American version of the hit series recently dropped, with Andie among those who made it to the finale alongside the likes of Quentin Jiles, Arie Luyendyk Jr and Cirie Fields.

In the final moments, Arie walked, with Andie and Quentin therefore thinking that they had won and would be able to split the winnings three ways with Cirie.

However, in a shocking twist, Cirie revealed that she was actually a Traitor all along, and was therefore able to take all the prize money for herself.

"There are so many emotions around this situation because there’s so many things like I said, that were leading up to the finale and I get emotional talking about a little bit," Andie recalled to Metro.

The contestant admitted that they "were so close that whole game, not once did I suspect her. Not once, and that was me being blind, I guess".

"But there’s just so many conversations that you have on and off screen and I genuinely thought the three of us, especially after the last mission, we had made a pact on the boat, [that] it’s going to be the three of us and we’re going to split this money, we all deserve this," they added.

In a sign of how closely they had bonded, both Quentin and Andie had opened up about each expecting babies, and had planned to split the money in order to support their families.

"All the way until the last 20 seconds of that show, we were convinced Cirie was splitting that money with us because we were going to be new parents," Andie continued.

"I don’t like the word 'manipulated' – but in that sense we were – when you’re manipulated with something that is that personal to you, and in the situation that we’re in, there’s so much stress, we just wanted the game to be done at that point. That’s all you’re thinking about. It’s really hard to talk about it."

They also claimed that Cirie's Faithful speech was only shown in part, saying: "The part that they didn’t show was all the way to the end saying how much Quentin and I deserve this because we are starting a family. So for us, there was never a doubt in our mind that we were all three going to split that money.

"So when she said that honestly, I would say I didn’t talk for about 10 minutes, and I turned around because I didn’t want to be on camera, just crying.

"And Quentin was just over there just like in shock and that’s when I said to her, 'I’m trying to muster up what to say to you, to look you in your eyes', and I could feel it from her too. She couldn’t look at me, she was crying, she felt so bad."

Andie admitted they would have done the same in Cirie's position, however, explaining: "If I was chosen to be a Traitor and I went all the way to the end, I would have done the same thing for my family. That’s a lot to process in a moment that is so emotionally charged."

They also revealed they were able to talk to Cirie again after two days, saying: "I think me and her were able to kind of reconnect because our relationship was really, really strong like that. Quentin and Cirie got closer to the end, but Cirie and I were like ride or die.

"The very first day, within the first 25 minutes of our conversation on the first day, I knew that she was going to be a safe space for me."

The Traitors US is available to stream on BBC iPlayer in the UK and Peacock in the US.
