Hollyoaks star Owen Warner has opened up about the "weirdness" of potentially watching his ex-girlfriend Lana Jenkins on the current series of Love Island.

Owen and Lana dated in 2020 during lockdown and, while he hasn't a bad word to say about his ex, he told the Daily Mirror that he won't be watching her on the ITV dating show.

"She’s a lovely girl and people will love her, but I’m not going to be watching. I feel like watching your ex move on to other people is a bit weird," Owen said.

"I wish her luck. no doubt she’s going to smash it."

Lana was coupled up with Ron Hall but the two decided to part ways as a couple after Lana struggled seeing Ron exploring potential relationships with other girls in the villa.

However, Lana did tell Ron about her prior relationship with Owen after a game of Never Have I Ever.

"So basically, I’m competing with someone who’s just come runner-up on a massive show who’s an actor and I work in finance. Yeah, erm, sick. This is great," Ron said when he found out.

While Lana stars in this reality show, however, Owen had a banner year in 2022 when he finished runner-up on I'm A Celebrity. Following his appearance in the jungle, Owen filmed extra scenes for Hollyoaks while still in Australia.

"I got taken downstairs and they gave me a script and they were like, 'Right, learn this...' I was there doing a FaceTime and it took me some time to learn it and I was like, 'What is going on? I'm losing it.'"

Love Island airs nightly on ITV2, and is available via catch up on ITVX and BritBox.
