Love Island spoilers follow.

Love Island is heading for another recoupling, and boy, does the villa need it.

Tonight's (January 31) episode ended on a cliffhanger after the Islanders were told that there would be a recoupling where the boys get to pick who to pair up with. Whichever girl was left single at the end would be booted from the villa.

The shake-up of the Love Island couples is much-needed, after one of the series' most dramatic episodes yet — featuring tears, shouting, and Tanya's birthday celebrations.

The episode focused on the fallout from Tom and Ellie's secret kiss after Will spilled the beans to Tanya.

Getting straight to the drama, Zara and Tanya spoke to Olivia. "I’ve just been told by Tanya that Ellie and Tom kissed," Zara said.

After learning of the kiss, Olivia confronted Tom, asking him: "Do you have anything you want to tell me?"

Olivia then went on to accuse Tom of playing games. "You can't have your cake and eat it," she said.

The drama further spilled over when Zara (who's coupled up with Tom) got involved and told Tom: "I hope your parents are proud of you".

As for the other Islanders, Ron told Lana he'd like to get to know bombshell Samie. He tried to keep things open between him and Lana, telling her: "I don’t want you to feel like you’re not my main priority — that does not change".

However, a noticeably hurt Lana was later seen crying as Ron cracked on with Samie.

As for Kai and Tanyel, they appear to be on the rocks after Samie turned Kai's head as well.

In better news, Will and Jessie had a lovely candlelit date. Jessie told Will: "You honestly make me so happy, no guy has ever made me feel like this".

Plus, things are still looking good for Shaq and Tanya.

With all the drama we saw tonight, this recoupling can't come quick enough.

Love Island airs nightly on ITV2, and is available via catch up on ITVX and BritBox.
