The Great British Bake Off star Rahul Mandal has announced he's getting married, with the ceremony due to take place tomorrow (December 4).

In an Instagram story, the series nine winner posted several clips of preparations for a wedding in India, before a secret link in the last story sent fans to another link in which he announced his upcoming wedding.

"Hi everyone, I have something to announce, I am having my social wedding tomorrow," he wrote. "We both are very excited, and a little nervous. It will be a small wedding in India. And yes, to everyone who guessed that this time I am in India for my wedding.

"I know you all will have a lot of questions. And me and my wife will answer them all. If you want to know anything about her, we will also be very happy to answer it too. But most of all, we would love to have your blessings and good wishes," he continued.

Rahul, who thanked his Instagram "family" for supporting him, invited fans (virtually) to take part in the special day, saying Bengali culture always invites "friends and family".

At the end of the post, he revealed that there would be no wedding cake at the ceremony, joking that "everyone is far too nervous to do a cake" for him.
