The Great British Bake Off's Halloween Week eliminee has inspiring challenge for viewers in goodbye letter

"Our merry band will remain friends."

The Great British Bake Off spoilers follow.

The Great British Bake Off's Halloween Week casualty has penned a poignant goodbye note vowing to remain close with the show's "merry band".

This week, the bakers were challenged to celebrate the autumn with their own variation on the apple cake in the Signature while the Showstopper needed to be a takeoff on the piñata.

Unfortunately, Dawn's offerings weren't quite ghoulish enough for judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith so she was vanquished from the spooky tent of doom.

In spite of the scares on offer this week, Dawn got surprisingly poignant and retrospective in a goodbye note about finally making it to the tent after 10 applications!

Likening her experience to a "strange, baking-themed holiday with all my kids and their mates", Dawn challenged viewers: "To anyone thinking about applying, do it, and if at first you don't get on, try again!

"It will be up there as one of the best things you've ever done."

The baker also shouted out the alpacas from her local petting zoo, who had featured in her introductory VT last month.

Even though it seems like this series of The Great British Bake Off has only just begun, we are actually rapidly approaching the finale with only six bakers left in the tent!
