Bake Off's latest eliminated baker pens goodbye message with inspiring advice for viewers

"It has taught me to take on more challenging opportunities."

The Great British Bake Off fans waved goodbye to Carole Edwards in Dessert Week, and now she's shared some inspiring words in her farewell letter on Twitter.

Carole was eliminated in Tuesday's (October 11) episode, after struggling in the signature challenge and showstopper rounds in particular. In her letter, she encouraged fans to try "more challenging opportunities".

She wrote: "Thank you for making a dream come true. I feel very humbled and privileged and lucky enough to be one of the class of 2022, who are all an amazing talented group of people, who are going to be life long friends.

"I have had an amazing journey on the show, and the memories will stay with me forever."

Before signing off as 'Compost Carole', the baker then revealed how appearing on Bake Off has altered her mindset.

"I was never confident that I could do this kind of thing, but it has taught me to take on more challenging opportunities and if you are out there....... yes you can do it. Lots of love me luvvers, Compost Carole xxx," she added.

Carole's letter also featured drawings of twin sunflowers, a bee, a pair of pants labelled "apple catchers", a slice of cake, and a drawing of her sitting inside a composter.

Following her elimination, Carole said that she felt "very proud" of her progress, adding that she'd done on the show because she wanted to "achieve something as I get older".

"Those bakers, what a great bunch of people," she added of her fellow contestants.

Dessert Week saw Sandro named Star Baker, with a Halloween-themed week up next.

The Great British Bake Off airs on Channel 4 in the UK. In the US, it's known as The Great British Baking Show, and streams on Netflix. Bake Off: An Extra Slice, hosted by Tom Allen and Jo Brand, airs on Fridays at 8pm on Channel 4.
