The Great British Bake Off returned for Bread Week on Channel 4 tonight (September 27).
Presided over by judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, and presenting duo Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas, the remaining contestants entered the iconic white tent for a third time this series in search of Star Baker glory.
Traditionally, at least one of them would be leaving the competition, but the absence through sickness of Rebs Lightbody and Abdul Rehman Sharif meant that their co-bakers were given a rare free pass and nobody went home.

For this week's Signature challenge, Paul and Prue wanted each of them to make two share-size pizzas, which saw all sorts of flavours meeting doughy bases, including Hawaiian, sweet rosemary lamb, spicy Malaysian prawn, and even full English breakfast.
Next up in the Technical were Pain aux raisins, which a lot of viewers will be familiar with.
And for the Showstopper? Variations on the classic Smörgåstårta, a Swedish celebration cake built with layers of sliced bread, delicious fillings and savoury decorations.
Ultimately, Janusz Domagala's inventive fish and chip shop vision won over Paul (hilariously nicknamed 'The Priest of Yeast' by Matt) and Prue tonight, which helped in their decision to crown him Star Baker.

"Hearing that you are a Star Baker is a feeling out of this world, you just cannot believe it!" the Polish native told the cameras.
Paul, meanwhile, had this to say: "Janusz is very artistic, almost [illusionary] in some of his bakes, and he's certainly one to watch going forward!"
The Great British Bake Off airs on Channel 4 in the UK. In the US, it's known as The Great British Baking Show, and streams on Netflix. Bake Off: An Extra Slice, hosted by Tom Allen and Jo Brand, will be airing on Thursdays at 8pm on Channel 4.
