RuPaul's Drag Race has made history with its cast announcement for season 15, revealing its biggest cast ever and a series of firsts.

Announcing the news today (December 13), season 14 winner Willow Pill hosted a YouTube live special Meet the Queens episode where she introduced 16 brand new queens – the largest cast in Drag Race history.

Not only will season 15 host the largest number of drag queens competing for the top spot, for the first time ever a pair of twins will be competing against each other for the crown.

In another first, season 15 will air a two-part premiere on MTV on January 6 in the US, after the series moved from VH1.

The 16 contestants are as follows: Amethyst the self-described "pop princess", stunt queen Anetra, TikTok star Aura Mayari, Irene Dubois who is drag sister to season 14 finalist Bosco.

Joining them in the lineup is stunt queen Jax, seasoned drag performer Loosey LaDuca, Luxx Noir London who is this season's youngest queen, and Malaysia Babydoll Foxx who is the first ever queen to appear on the show from Miami.

Finally they will be competing against New York City performer Marcia Marcia Marcia, southern drag queen Mistress Isabelle Brooks from Texas, another TikTok queen named Princess Poppy, Robin Fierce, LA queen Salina EsTitties, and Sasha Colby who is season 14 favourite Kerri Colby's drag mother.

Last to be announced were LA twins Spice and Sugar, who boast a whopping 7.4 million followers on TikTok.

RuPaul previously opened up about the show's fifteenth season saying: "When I hear season 15 of RuPaul's Drag Race, I have to pinch myself – I just won't tell you where."

RuPaul's Drag Race UK airs on BBC Three in the UK and streams on WOW Presents Plus in the US.
