Legendary is the latest project to be cancelled by HBO Max.
The service has been axing numerous films and shows since the merger of Warner Bros and Discovery, with analysts suggesting that scripted content would be reduced to focus on more reality shows, but the vogue competition is the second reality series to be cancelled in two days, after FBoy Island.
Responding to the news, judge Leiomy Maldonado tweeted out her disappointment.

"LEGENDARY HAS OFFICIALLY BEEN CANCELLED. THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO SUPPORTED THE SHOW. ON TO THE NEXT…" she wrote, before following up with "Anyone who knows me knows how passionate I am about ballroom and it’s existence… I feel broken [sic]."

She did follow up with a lighter tweet, (possibly) joking that she was now ready to take part in a dating show.
At the time of writing, fellow judges Jameela Jamil, Law Roach, Megan Thee Stallion and Keke Palmer have not responded to the cancellation on social media.
When the show was first announced, Jamil was mistakenly announced as the emcee, which exacerbated a controversy around her involvement that led to her coming out as queer.
A few months later, she looked back on the controversy and said that she only wanted to focus on the contestants, explaining: "I don't mean that in a pissy way, we went there, we did that, it was all in my f**king face. I should never have been centred in that. It was just a f**k-up on a press release, and we've moved on."
All three seasons of Legendary are available to watch via HBO Max in the US. In the UK, the first two seasons are available to watch on All4.
