Toy Story 5 is officially happening, four years on from Woody and Buzz Lightyear's last adventure.
Tim Allen, who voices plastic space ranger Buzz Lightyear, confirmed as much in a tweet yesterday (February 9).
"See ya soon Woody, you are a sad strange little man and you have my pity. And off we go to a number 5!" he wrote alongside a shot of his character. "To infinity and beyond!"

The last we heard about a potential fifth outing for Pixar's billion-dollar franchise was back around the time of Toy Story 4's release.
Producer Mark Nielsen exclusively told Digital Spy: "There are, you know, seven other feature films in production at Pixar that are all lined up, that are really exciting, that have crews working on them.
"So our focus has really been on Onward, on Soul, and on future Pixar films right now. There hasn't been a lot of conversation right now about life beyond Toy Story 4."
As fans will recall, Toy Story 4 climaxed with Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks) deciding to go off into the sunset with Bo Peep (Annie Potts) as opposed to heading back to Bonnie's house with Buzz and the gang.

Discussing this twist, Nielsen also revealed during our chat: "Any version that we had, where Woody ended up going back to Bonnie's house, just felt like maybe he hadn't changed that much. Right? He was going back to where he started at the beginning of the film, and it started to feel, to us, like just another little fun adventure with the toys.
"We were really interested in making a bigger move and the idea of completing Woody's arc."
