Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige almost went the way of Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo by nearly giving away a major spoiler about the future of the MCU.

In a live-streamed video with Marvel.com at the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania red carpet, Feige opened up about Jonathan Majors' multiple roles as Kang the Conqueror in the MCU. However, he almost let slip a big spoiler.

"We were casting that role for both Loki, He Who Remains, and Quantumania. And obviously, he shot He Who Remains first, and then [Ant-Man]. But you can see already, if viewers who saw him in Loki, saw him in the trailer for Quantumania, he is such a versatile actor," Feige said.

"He's getting a lot of great acclaim in numerous movies coming out around this time. And we've already..."

Feige then halted, just about catching himself before giving away a crucial bit of information about where Kang, Majors, and the MCU might be headed post-Ant-Man 3.

"I almost gave you a big spoiler," he said. "But we've got lots of plans ahead for him in a great way."

The first reactions for Ant-Man 3 have already arrived, with critics calling it a mad-cap, bombastic adventure that delivers on the ambition and wildness the movie promised. It appears to be a good start to Marvel's Phase 5, after a mixed bag in Phase 4.

Feige previously spoke about why they chose to kick off phase 5 with Ant-Man 3 — and it's all to do with showing how Scott Lang has earned his place as one of the pillars of the MCU.

"We wanted to kick off Phase Five with Ant-Man because he’d earned that position," Feige said. "To not simply be the back-up or the comic relief, but to take his position at the front of the podium of the MCU."

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has a February 17 release date.
