Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star Jonathan Majors has confirmed a major detail about Kang the Conqueror.
Majors returns as Kang in the third Ant-Man film after first debuting as a variant of the character in Loki. Now, the actor has revealed that the MCU's next big bad is a Nexus being, a status previously held only by Wanda Maximoff.
Speaking to Digital Spy and other press about Kang and his variants, Majors began: "Who is Kang? I think that is a question that we will all be answering for a very long time."

The Creed III star continued: "I think the quick answer to that is Kang is a time-traveling supervillain who is also a Nexus being, which leads to this idea of variants. There are multiple versions of Kang. 'Versions' being variants.
"They occupy different universes, multiverses, they have different intentions. They are all different beings.
"And yet something that we’re still – and I’m still – working on, and continue to refine and refine and refine, is something that’s a through line between them. And that, to me, is the Kang gene in a nutshell."

Considering Nexus beings possess the ability to affect probability and, in the process, the future itself, this new detail ultimately makes Kang one of the most powerful figures in the MCU.
Recently explaining Kang's motivations in connection to Scott Lang, Hank Pym and co, Marvel boss Kevin Feige said: "Kang's a very powerful person, but when we meet him he’s in a position where he needs to get that power back.
"He has a ship and a device that would allow him to go anywhere, and anywhen he wants if he can get it online. If only he had access to genius scientists with Pym particles."
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has a February 17 release date.
