Marvel star Jeremy Renner was trying to prevent his snowplough from hitting his nephew when he was pulled under during the terrifying accident near his home in Nevada.
According to a police report obtained by CNN, Renner had been helping his adult nephew tow his car out of the snow when the incident occurred on New Year's Day. "The Pistenbully snow groomer began sliding causing Renner to exit the vehicle without setting the emergency brake," the report read.
It added that Renner had exited the vehicle after it had begun sliding down a hill before trying to stop it from hitting his nephew, which is when the scary accident occurred.

"Once he was off the Pistenbully, he realised it was heading directly toward [his nephew]. He feared the Pistenbully was going to hit [his nephew], so he decided to attempt to stop or divert the Pistenbully," the report continued, adding that the actor had been pulled under the snowplough's track while attempting to re-enter the driver's cab.
Following the accident, Renner's nephew assisted him on the roadside before the actor was airlifted to hospital. He sustained blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries, which required surgery and treatment in an intensive care unit.
The report also noted that "mechanical issues" may have been a factor in the incident but ruled out impairment.
