American Horror Story star Emma Roberts has teased more details about her mystery character in the Spider-Man universe.
The actress, who began appearing in the anthology series in 2013, will star in spin-off movie Madame Web, which is due to be released in 2024.
Plot details for the film remain under wraps, but Roberts did offer a small hint about her character while also providing some details on the project.

“What I can tell you is I'm not a superhero,” she told the Shut Up Evan podcast. “Some people may think she's a superhero but I don't have supernatural powers.
“It's really different from any of the other Marvel movies – it's super grounded,” she continued. “I love that it has so many great actresses, it's really female-driven, and I just think it's not going to be what people expect.
“I'm really, really excited for everybody to see it, and by the way, I'm excited to see it, because I only worked like a week on it, so there's so much that I haven't seen. I did get to see the storyboards and read the script, and it's fantastic.”
The film, which is being directed by SJ Clarkson, stars Dakota Johnson as the titular character, who is a “clairvoyant whose psychic abilities allow her to see within the ‘spider-world”. The cast also includes Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O'Connor, Zosia Mamet, Severance lead Adam Scott and The Serpent’s Tahar Rahim.

Roberts was recently announced to be starring in and producing the Hulu series Second Wife, which will feature Lucifer lead Tom Ellis. She will also front the Prime Video feature Space Cadet, which she serves as an executive producer for.
The most recent season of American Horror Story, subtitled NYC, aired across October and November last year. The most recent renewal order from FX promised at least another two seasons of the show, which would take it to 13 seasons.
American Horror Story airs on FX in the US and Disney+ in the UK, where seasons 1-9 are also available to buy on Prime Video. Madame Web is scheduled to be released on February 16, 2024.
