Marvel star Dominique Thorne has teased a different side to Riri Williams in the upcoming Ironheart series.

The actress made her MCU debut in last year's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and is due to return in her own Disney+ series this year.

Speaking to Collider about the Riri that fans will see in Ironheart, Thorne teased a "deeper look" into the character than we've seen so far.

"We just saw her in a very intense, very heightened situation. And I think it'll be super incredible to see folks' reaction to a deeper dive, a deeper look at her," she explained.

The actress also teased the diverse cast, adding: "I'm looking forward to seeing the impact, or the effect, that the cast has on folks who are watching the show.

"We have so many just obnoxiously talented individuals in this cast. It's sickening how incredible some of these actors are and comedians are."

The star continued: "But who these folks are as humans is really, I think, what is special or different or unique about Ironheart, because... the folks who comprise this core cast are folks who have committed to authenticity in one form or another in their own personal lives.

"And so the characters that they play, I think by nature of divine timing, by nature of God's will, in some way, does also reflect a deeper layer of authenticity than we may have seen in other shows or movies, or I think probably most notably by major franchises, written or televised, just major creative franchises when they do decide to be so bold as to be inclusive."

Last year, Thorne opened up about the advice that Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr gave her, especially as the character is taking over the Iron mantle.

"He had some beautiful words to say about how much he believes that Riri Williams is and should always be her own person, her own thing, that this legacy is headed in the right direction," she told ScreenRant.

"All the beautiful encouraging things that you hope to hear from the Iron Man himself."

Ironheart will stream on Disney+. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is now streaming on Disney+. The first movie is also streaming on Disney+.
