Only Murders in the Building season 2 spoilers follow.
Delightful whodunnit series Only Murders in the Building has just given fans a first look at Paul Rudd's obnoxious character in the new chapter.
Season 2 ended with a surprise cameo from the Marvel star as pompous actor Ben Glenroy, dying on stage in the first few minutes of director Oliver's (Martin Short) Broadway comeback play.
In a new image from behind the scenes, Rudd's return is confirmed as he sports a new hairstyle to play Ben in a flashback.

Rocking bleached highlights and a leather jacket, Ben stands next to an unnamed character played by The Watcher's Caitlin Hammond. Could she be the mysterious woman Charles (Steve Martin) was referring to in the finale? Let's recap.
Following a time jump, the audience learnt that the Arconia trio – Oliver, Charles and Mabel (Selena Gomez) – have managed to live quietly and murder-free for an entire 12 months. Which, if you know this true-crime-loving gang, is definitely an improvement.
Of course, the tables turned when Ben drops dead after a heated exchange with his co-star Charles.
Just before the curtain comes up on opening night, the two actors argue over the former's involvement with a woman. Charles warns Ben to "stay away from her", finishing off with an ominous: "I know what you did."
Season 3 is set to tie in at least some of these loose ends, giving fans insights into Ben's life before his untimely demise. What was he like? And, most importantly, did he ever commit a crime, as Charles's subtle threat seemed to suggest?

Whether Ben is a murderer or not isn't clear at the moment, but he sure wasn't the nicest to be around.
Only Murders in the Building co-creator John Hoffman described the character as "the guy who everyone is having challenges with", saying Ben has a "touch of a-hole".
"[Rudd] plays it right on that line, and I just love what he's doing," he told TVLine. "I can't wait to see where we go with that."
And neither can we, though it looks like this third instalment won't premiere until at least this summer. More time to hone those fan theories.
